Digestive Problems

digestive-problems-largeIt is truly amazing the number of people including children who suffer with digestive problems. Many people think stomach cramps, heartburn, diarrhea, blood in the stool and missing school or work is quite normal and part of everyday life. Considering eating and digesting food properly is essential for our survival I find this astounding. Ignoring these symptoms or medicating them is a recipe for disaster. These problems are not normal and indicate that your body is malfunctioning.

The digestive system is basically a long tub running from your mouth to your anus. Its’ purpose is to extract nutrients and energy from the foods you eat. Along the way there are organs and specialized structures (stomach, intestine, gall bladder, liver) which add enzymes, acids, and liquids to aid in digestion.

The three most common problems associated with digestion are Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Your nerve system runs your whole body including your digestive system. If there is interference to the nerve system function your body will not work correctly. In Chiropractic we call this interference vertebral subluxation. It means the nerve system cannot control the normal function of your intestinal area.
