Back Injuries

Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS)

Of the thousands of surgeries done each year for herniated discs, medical authorities admit a large number are unnecessary and useless with many having the same or worse pain after surgery. They have what is known as Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS). In fact some medical references claim only about 1% of back surgeries are successful.

Can a person who has had back surgery see a Chiropractor?

Yes. It is unfortunate that up to one-half of those who had spinal surgery have a return of their original symptoms months later. This is known as FBSS (see above).

Our Cambridge office has given Chiropractic care to many who have had previous surgeries or are suffering FBSS. The vast majority have had excellent results.
